2020-2021 New Student Enrollment Information

Students planning to enroll as a new student to Grainger High School may download and print the 2020-2021 New Student Enrollment Packet here.  Completed enrollment packets and required documentation may be emailed to the school counselor assigned to the student's grade. Completed packets may also be returned to Grainger High School beginning Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

WSCC Dual Enrollment

Fall of 2020 Enrollment Process

 

It is time for juniors and seniors interested in enrolling in Dual Enrollment at Walters State Community College in the fall to complete the necessary online steps for enrollment. This is a new process for all Dual Enrollment students! Please read all the information and watch all the videos provided on the WSCC Dual Enrollment Program web-page concerning the steps for completing the Dual Enrollment process. Please complete the enrollment process as soon as possible.

Please keep the following ideas in mind as you complete the Dual Enrollment online process:

  1. Students must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA to enroll in a Dual Enrollment course. Seniors planning to take English Composition I or Probability and Statistics must have a 3.6 cumulative GPA.
  2. Students will only enroll for courses they are planning to take in the fall of 2020.
  3. All WSCC Dual Enrollment courses will be taught online at GHS.
  4. Juniors enrolling in American History I in the fall must also take American History II in the spring of 2021. Seniors taking English Composition I in the fall must also take English Composition II in the spring of 2021.
  5. Please make sure you enter all application information accurately.
  6. Please make sure you record your usernames and passwords for any accounts you create. You will need to log in to these accounts again!

All students planning to enroll in the fall must complete the following steps in order for enrollment to be complete:

  1. All students must apply to WSCC by completing the WSCC Online Application.
  2. All students must complete the Morristown Campus Online Dual Enrollment Permission Form in Dynamic Forms. All courses are taught online. You do not need to enter information concerning the CRN or Section.
  3. A parent must complete a portion of the Online Dual Enrollment Permission Form in Dynamic Forms. The parent must create an account in Dynamic Forms once the student has completed his or her portion of the form. An email will be sent to the parent with a link to creating an account in Dynamic Forms.
  4. All students must complete the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant Application for 2020-2021 on the TSAC website. Please keep a record of your username and password.
  5. All students will need to complete the Immunization Health History Form in Dynamic Forms.

Grainger High School students may now view important information and complete the 2020-2021 Course Registration Form. In order to complete the course registration process, students are asked to view the grade level informational video and complete the grade specific 2020-2021 Course Registration Form. Senior Information

 

All seniors are provided with the opportunity to use two excused College and Career Days during their senior year (one during first semester, one during second semester). College and Career Day Request forms are available online or in the School Counseling Office, Room 209. Completed forms must be submitted with all teacher signatures and parent signature three days prior to the visit day. Students must also submit an official letter of proof from the school or industry visited on their first day back to school after the visit, in order to be granted the excused college day.

Any student interested in obtaining a letter of recommendation from a school counselor must submit a completed Brag Sheet to his/her school counselor at least two weeks prior to the date needed. Brag Sheets are available online or in the School Counseling Office, Room 209.

Students should use a Transcript Request Form any time there is a need to have his/her transcripts or ACT scores sent to a school of interest. Transcript Request Forms are available online or in the School Counseling Office, Room 209. Students must provide the address to which transcripts/scores must be sent.

A Note To Student Athletes 

 

Student athletes who wish to participate in NCAA Division I or II athletics: You need to be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center. You need to qualify academically and you will also need to be cleared as an amateur student-athlete. You are responsible for achieving and protecting your eligibility status. Please be advised that there is not a need to pay for college financial aid assistance. You may obtain information from your school counselor or the college that you plan to attend. You should thoroughly research any agency or service that may require a fee for financial aid or scholarship assistance.

Eagle Experience 

The Eagle Experience at Carson-Newman is a shadowing event, offered this year on April 7, 2020. On this day, prospective students get to experience life as an eagle! Students come to campus and are paired with a current student who will take them to chapel, class and lunch, followed by a guided campus tour. Parents are welcome to attend chapel and lunch with their child as well as a parent-specific panel while students observe class. Students and parents can register here.

ETSU Spring Open Houses will be held Saturday, March 7 and Saturday, March 28. True Blue Preview 

MTSU conducts True Blue Previews as a way for prospective students to see the campus, take extended tours led by student guides, learn about academic departments and student services, housing, programs and student organizations, and meet faculty and staff from academic areas and Student Affairs. In addition to touring campus and housing, visitors can participate in academic and departmental presentations, receive information on financial aid and scholarships and choose from many different special interest sessions. Local Students are invited to come and see one or all of Pellissippi State’s five campuses. Prospective students can experience the college atmosphere, talk to students, visit the labs, see the library, etc. Information sessions are usually given prior to the tour of campus by an Enrollment Services Coordinator.
